Since we started making bamboo rods in 1988, the process has been changedmany times. We have experimented with various materials and processes, not only the tapers design, but also from the various adhesives and paints down to the quality of the material of ferrule and metalic parts. Thus now the best materials and processes are being used.However one thing has never changed. That is (this is very simple,but. . .) "For me a bamboo rod is a tool" . I think that it is a wonderfull "tool" which has to perform it's purpose well and should be as simple as possible. A Kawairod is made on the assumption that it will be fixed if it's broken and be used as long as possible. Therefore many Tonkin bamboos are always in stock and all the required parts except guides are made in our Kawairod workshop. Therefore it's possible to fix rods right away. Since cutting machine has been developed , which is a milling machine with Dickerson type, lot of labor and time for cutting has been saved. The N-series are on sale in the same price range as the graphite The most basic tapers of Kawairod is used for the design for the each model of the N-series. |
